I hope you are all well and keeping safe. it has been such strange times. Sadly, our netball season was cut a few weeks short and we were unable to finish the league.
When we first went into lockdown, we retained hope that we would still complete the league season, even if this meant playing into the summer months and concluding the remaining fixtures. However, with the recent announcements and government guidance it is clear that social distancing and other restrictions will remain in place as sport begins to explore ways to resume. These restrictions naturally impact our sport, which involves contest and marking of an opponent. Not sure new rules of 2m would work for us... :: READ MORE ::
Salisbury Netball Association held their third annual netball charity tournament on Wednesday 12th December.
A total of £750 was raised and being donated to ‘Children with Cancer ‘ (supporting Mel Hitchens who is running the London Marathon in April 2019) and The Trussell Trust, to support local families.
Thanks to all the teams for the wonderful hampers and the committee for the extra prizes. Thank you for all supporting this event, playing, officiating and organising and special thanks to Five Rivers for allowing us to use the sports hall.
On December 13th 2017 the Salisbury and District Netball Association held their second Charity Tournament at Five Rivers Leisure Centre in Salisbury. There was a raffle and entry fee to raise funds and the Christmas Hampers were all donations from each team in the league, with additional prizes provided by the committee and some extra much appreciated donations too.
The evening was a huge success and raised £568 which was split between two charities, Motor Neurone Decease and Children's Chance.’
Walking Netball is a slower version of the game of netball, designed for anyone looking to exercise in a relaxed, supportive and friendly environment. A game of Walking Netball is for adults of all abilities and every session contains a gentle warm-up.

Tidworth session starts on Tuesday 11th January, with Melksham starting on the 12th January 2017!

Salisbury and District Netball Association held a Christmas fundraising tournament on Tuesday 13th December raising in excess of £1,500 in support of Amelia Russell, an 8-year-old girl who is suffering from Neuroendocrine carcinoma, a rare cancer in the form of a tumor which has spread to her bones. The tournament took place with 10 teams from the Salisbury League, who all raised funds through entry fees, selling raffle tickets and providing festive hampers for the event. The league committee contributed more prizes and thank you to Sally House and Karlene Jammeh who also obtained further fund raising, donated prizes and provided seasonal treats.
Salisbury and District Netball Association is very grateful to Five Rivers Leisure Centre and Blue Jays Netball Club for their help in supporting the event.
